Elaine and her husband Reginald have two children, a son Donovan, and a daughter Maliyah. Maliyah was diagnosed with autism at 3 years of age. The diagnosis lead to a new career, Elaine has spent years helping families of children with disabilities, as a Parent Mentor, advocate, and volunteer in Ohio. Elaine currently works as an Information Specialist and Trainer at the nonprofit Ohio Coalition for the Education of Children with Disabilities, the state’s training, and information center for parents of children with special needs.

Elaine has helped educate parents in 25 counties in the state of Ohio.

Elaine is a volunteer at heart she serves on several Family Advisory Councils including Nationwide Children’s Autism Treatment Network and Nationwide Children’s Family as Faculty where she gives a presentation to medical staff about Family-Centered Care at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and The Ohio State University. Elaine is the Chief Operating Officer of the Non-Profit Emerging Autism Solutions founded by Angela Ramos Fields.
